Job Description: Auto Electrician/ HGV Fitter

 Responsible to:  Operations Manager / Production Supervisor

Main Objective:

• Fit electrical systems and looms to rigid chassis and trailers using appropriate installation techniques to a satisfactory standard, following all relevant engineering documents, drawings and customer specifications and meet defined production targets. 

Responsibilities.

  • Check drawings, measurements, and customer specification prior to Fitting.
  • Implementing Health and Safety policies.
  • Assemble and install quality parts from components and fittings.
  • Install products in accordance with Engineering drawings and standards.
  •  Support the quality system with respect to timely reporting of installation issues by using the relevant Non-Conformance reporting system and by ensuring that job route cards are completed for every job.
  •  Focus on time and productivity targets.
  • Perform fault finding, diagnostics and repairs as required.
  • Train and coach other staff members as required.
  • Maintain a professional and responsible attitude at all times.

POSITION: Gear Fitters

Responsible to: Operations Manager / Production Supervisor

Main objective;

  • Fit tipping gear, load cells, rear hinge and associated gear fitting requirements to rigid chassis and trailers using appropriate welding and fabrication techniques to a satisfactory standard, following all relevant engineering documents, drawings and customer specifications and meet defined production targets.

Responsibilities:

Check drawings, measurements, and customer specification prior to Fitting.

  • Implementing Health and Safety policies.
  • Manufacture and assemble quality parts from jigs and fixtures.
  • Fabricate products in accordance with Engineering drawings and standards.
  • Support the quality system with respect to timely reporting of fabrication issues by using the relevant Non Conformance reporting system and by ensuring that job route cards are completed for every job.
  • Focus on time and productivity targets.
  • Ensure that all electrical appliances, including welding equipment is turned off at the end of each day and that the bay is left in a clean and safe condition.
  • Maintain a professional and responsible attitude at all times.
  • Reporting equipment defects for maintenance.
  • Actively participating in the reduction of waste, and in the management of waste through separation of waste products.
  • Management, care and use of your own personal protective equipment.

POSITION:  Welder/ Fabrication-Body Fitters

Responsible to: Operations Manager / Production Supervisor

Main objective;

  • Fit aluminium and steel tipper and rigid bodies to chassis and trailers using appropriate MIG and TIG welding and fabrication techniques to a satisfactory standard, following all relevant engineering documents, drawings and customer specifications and meet defined production targets.

Responsibilities:

  • Check drawings, measurements, and customer specification prior to Fitting.
  • Implementing Health and Safety policies.
  • Manufacture and assemble quality parts from jigs and fixtures.
  • Fabricate products in accordance with Engineering drawings and standards.
  • Fit appropriate sheeting system in accordance with customers requirements
  • Support the quality system with respect to timely reporting of fabrication issues by using the relevant Non Conformance reporting system and by ensuring that job route cards are completed for every job.
  • Focus on quality, time and productivity targets.
  • Ensure that all electrical appliances, including welding equipment is turned off at the end of each day and that the bay is left in a clean and safe condition.
  • Maintain a professional and responsible attitude at all times.
  • Reporting equipment defects for maintenance.
  • Actively participating in the reduction of waste, and in the management of waste through separation of waste products.

Responsibilities:

 Check drawings, measurements, and customer specification prior to Fitting.

  • Manufacture and assemble quality parts from jigs and fixtures.
  • Fabricate products in accordance with Engineering drawings and standards.
  • Support the quality system with respect to timely reporting of fabrication issues by using the relevant Non-Conformance reporting system and by ensuring that job route cards are completed for every job.
  • Undertake fitting tasks as required.
  • Focus on time and productivity targets.
  • Ensure that all electrical appliances, including welding equipment is turned off at the end of each day and that the bay is left in a clean and safe condition.
  • Maintain a professional and responsible attitude at all times.
  • Reporting equipment defects for maintenance.
  • Work within company Health and Safety policies.
  • Actively participating in the reduction of waste, and in the management of waste through separation of waste products.
  • Management, care and use of your allocated personal protective equipment.
